Despite Major Opposition, New Board Passes Development Plan

BREAKING—UPPER POTTSGROVE: In a grueling, over four-hour meeting, the Upper Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners voted 3 to 2 to approve a highly controversial Artisan development plan. The agenda called the action a settlement, so it remains open to what degree Artisan’s plans are moving forward and what the board may still have to approve. This move will add at least 119 housing units to the already existing Artisan development effort approved in another controversial vote in 2019. The meeting was standing room only, with many in attendance commenting.

Residents have described the meeting as a disorganized collection of ridiculous reasoning on the part of board members, highlighted by the approval of the Artisan project. The residents in attendance were overwhelmingly against the project and made their disapproval known. The other major item on the long agenda was the vote to purchase several acres located at 185 Maugers Mill Road.
