Engineers Confirm Evans Rd Municipal Site

For better understanding of the municipal site section process, please see the Township engineer’s site confirmation study conducted in September of 2023 (see link below).  The study confirms the Board of Commissioners’ selection of Evans Rd for the Township’s municipal site selected in 2020 and approved in August of 2022.  The Board undertook this study after Commissioner Cathy Paretti had claimed during the Board’s July 2023 meeting: “We do have an alternate spot…We have the study done and it says Heather Place.  We can move it right there and start right away.”  This is not true; the study confirmed Evans Road site, not Heather Place. The “study” she mentioned was a simple listing of areas in Township without any analysis or conclusion.  She says that Heather Place should be used, not the engineers.

The actual study is quite detailed.  Not only does it highlight the logic of cost saving and optimal location but includes efforts that will increase the site’s aesthetic and recreational benefits as well.  The Heather Place suggestion voiced by Paretti was cited in an anonymous letter sent out to several Township residents last year (it’s not known who sent the letter or who paid for it).  This letter also claimed that the Township is using 35 acres for a municipal building.  And, again, as with Paretti’s claim that a “study” concluded that Heather Place is the site, it is not true.
